PRSD Superintendent Resigns

Dunmore, AB - With deep regret, the Prairie Rose School Division Board of Trustees has accepted the resignation of Doug Nicholls, Superintendent of Schools, effective August 1, 2013.

"Mr. Nicholls has provided the division with strong direction during his employment with Prairie Rose," says board chair Marian Peers.  "He has been a great addition to the team and his contributions have led to increased learning opportunities for students."

Doug Nicholls joined the division as Superintendent of Schools in 2006.  For the past seven years Nicholls has initiated a number of successful programs and partnerships for Prairie Rose School Division that has allowed for enhanced technology advancements, new relationships, staff leadership, as well as community, staff and student feedback.

"I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to work with so many exceptional young people, dedicated staff and passionate communities," says Nicholls.  "My time at Prairie Rose has been a very memorable and rewarding experience.  I leave knowing that the future of rural education is in great hands."

"Working with Mr. Nicholls has been very positive for the board," says Peers.  "He has provided us with good direction and his leadership will be missed.  We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

The Prairie Rose School Division board of trustees will select a new Superintendent of Schools as soon as possible.
